Columbia Gas of Kentucky joined with the Lexington Division of Community Corrections as presenting and organizing sponsors of the fourth annual VA5K run/walk to present a check for $86,165 to Friends of Lexington Fisher House and the Lexington VA Health Care System.

The money was raised through sponsorships, donations and registration fees from the event held in November.

Walmart and the Association of the United States Army were key sponsors of the event.

Columbia Gas of Kentucky has a long history of supporting veterans and their families in Lexington through NiVets, its employee resource group for veteran employees and supporters.  NiVets has helped raise more than $121,000 for veterans since the inaugural VA5K in 2016.
