Poor Man’s Harlan County Derby Eve Party benefits Lexington Fisher House

The 49th Annual Poor Man’s Harlan County Derby Eve Party held at Two Keys Tavern in Lexington on May 5, 2023, benefited the Lexington Fisher House and the K Club’s Emergency Relief Fund.  What began nearly a half century ago when Bill Morgan of Bill Morgan Tire Company decided to throw a party for family and friends the night before the Kentucky Derby, has turned into a premiere Derby Eve event raising money for charities.  There was live music on three stages, featuring the Artie Dean Country Band, Dan Jackson & the Motown Band and the headliner was country music star Chancey Williams.  Food was provided by Joe Bologna’s Restaurant & Pizzeria.  There was also an online auction featuring incredible items like autographed University of Kentucky sports memorabilia, prime UK football and basketball tickets, rare bourbon and unique event and travel packages.  The event was sponsored by The 15 Club.  Our sincere thanks to Bill Morgan, the sponsors, Cumulus Media, Friends of Lexington Fisher House Board Member Deidre Ransdell who spearheaded the event, and everyone who came to the party and bid on auction items.
