MOAA, Bluegrass Chapter joins mission in support of Lexington Fisher House

The Military Officers Association of America, Bluegrass Chapter, presented a check at its July 30, 2021 meeting to our capital campaign to help build a Fisher House in Lexington.  The check was presented by Bluegrass Chapter President, Col. Tom Peters, USAF, MSC, (Ret.)   He has a rich history with Fisher Houses.  When he was on active-duty, Col. Peters was the administrator of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, which is served by three Fisher Houses.  He also worked closely with the late founder of Fisher House, Zachary Fisher, in developing and negotiating an agreement that eventually became the template for OASD(HA) policy regarding Fisher Houses at DOD medical facilities.  We are honored to have Col. Peters and the MOAA, Bluegrass Chapter join our mission.
