Fisher House Services

The Lexington Fisher House will provide free lodging for veterans’ families who travel more than 50 miles for their loved one to be treated in the Lexington VA Health Care System.

The Lexington Fisher House

The mission of the Friends of Lexington Fisher House is to spearhead a capital campaign to build a Fisher House at the Lexington VA Health Care System’s Sousley Campus on Leestown Road in Lexington, Kentucky.  The Fisher House will serve veterans’ families by providing a safe, supportive and loving comfort home away from home at no cost while their loved one is receiving treatment at the VA.  The 13,400 square foot house will feature 16 private suites with a common kitchen, dining and living area. It is estimated the house will save families $600,000 in lodging and transportation and provide up to 5,840 lodging days annually.  The house will be gifted to the VA upon completion.
